"Got this recipe from a show on the A.B.C. As we are family of Broccoli lovers, I tried this for something different, and the family enjoyed it so much. Easy and so quick and a great side dish to any meal."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Blanch the broccoli in boiling water.

Step 2

Whilst broccoli is still hot from blanching, heat the butter and extra virgin olive oil in a pan until a light brown colour.(Using olive oil inhibits the burning of butter).

Step 3

Add roasted almond flakes and toss.

Step 4

Place blanched broccoli in pan and pour over with juice of the lemon, and use seasonings to taste. Serve.

I loved the speediness of this dish and it's simplicity with great results. Because I was managing different pots in the kitchen I wound up overcooking the broccoli slightly, but no fear it didn't turn into moosh. Made for a great side to our fish. Next time I will use a little less lemon (our lemon had alot of juice), otherwise it was perfect. Thank you Tisme for sharing. Made it for Billboard Tag.
