Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a medium saucepan, mix together water, sugar, raisins, shortening and cocoa.

Bring to a boil, and let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, and let cool.

Add vanilla extract.
Step 5
Sift dry ingredients together.
Step 6
Add to wet ingredients.
Step 7
Fold in nuts.
Step 8
Bake in 2 loaf pans for 60 minutes, until toothpick comes out clean.
