Step by Step Method

Step 1

Toast the hazelnuts in a skillet over high heat for a few minutes, until they release their aroma. Cool.

Step 2

Spread butter evenly all over top side of bread.

Step 3

Arrange pear slices on bread so that they overlap slightly.

Step 4

Top with crumbled blue cheese and the toasted hazelnuts.

This is my recipe, so am not reviewing but just wanted to comment that I liked the combination. I would caution that the pear should not be over ripe like mine was!! I had to use macadamia nuts instead - they were good! I wish I had smashed the blue cheese in with the butter, then topped with pears and nuts. Just an idea...!
