Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix all ingredients together in a crockpot, except potatoes.

Step 2

Cook 5 hours on low or 250 degrees if using your oven.

Step 3

Add potatoes the last hour of cooking.

Sus your mom's stew is delicious! I love stew and can eat it anytime of the year but on a cold wet winter day it was the perfect meal. Normally I use petite diced tomatoes but enjoyed the homemade flavor of the stewed tomatoes, only had one large red onion on hand instead of three, and used my fav's yellow gold potatoes. Didnt add the tapioca because I like my stew more on the soupier side for dunking some good sourdough bread in there. :) A definite keeper! Made and reviewed for the FYC tag game.

This was a good basic beef stew. I didn't have any tapocia so used barley instead and added about 2 cups water, otherwise made as directed. Thanks for sharing!
