Beef and Italian Sausage Burger With Peppers

"The combination of hot Italian sausage with the beef makes a wonderful peppy burger. Add peppers, onions and provolone cheese and you have a WOW burger. The recipe is from a TV network magazine with some modification by me. If you wish use mild or medium Italian but the burger won't be as peppy. Smoked Provolone cheese is a nice extra touch."

Step 1

Combine the beef, Italian sausage, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper.

Step 2

Mix gently with your hands

Step 3

Form into 4 half inch patties, set aside

Step 4

Toss together the oil, onion and peppers

Step 5

Stir fry, medium high heat in a large skillet for about 5-7 minutes

Step 6

Move veggies to the sides add burgers cook for approx. 4 minutes each side or until cooked to your liking

Step 7

Place cheese in the burgers, cover for the last couple of minutes

Step 8

Place burgers on the buns, add onions & peppers

Step 9

Sprinkle on the basil- Enjoy

These burgers deserve more than five stars. They are delicious! My kids loved them and so did my hubby and I. They are a nice change from our regular burgers.
