Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1/2 pound Italian sausage (hot Italian sausage links, casings removed)
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Red onion slices (4 1/2 inch)
  • 2 medium bell peppers (coloured peppers, seeded, cut into 1/2 inch strips)
  • 2 tablespoon oil (olive oil)
  • 4 provolone cheese slices
  • 4 bread buns (burger buns)
  • 4 large fresh basil leaves, cut in strips

How to Make

  • Step 1: Combine the beef, Italian sausage, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper.

  • Step 2: Mix gently with your hands

  • Step 3: Form into 4 half inch patties, set aside

  • Step 4: Toss together the oil, onion and peppers

  • Step 5: Stir fry, medium high heat in a large skillet for about 5-7 minutes

  • Step 6: Move veggies to the sides add burgers cook for approx. 4 minutes each side or until cooked to your liking

  • Step 7: Place cheese in the burgers, cover for the last couple of minutes

  • Step 8: Place burgers on the buns, add onions & peppers

  • Step 9: Sprinkle on the basil- Enjoy
