Au Gratin Sausage Skillet
"I found this recipe on another site posted by Miss Fannie, and it's a " Gooseberry Patch " recipe which was sent to them by Teresa Podracky. Now,I did however make a couple of changes to the recipe but I don't think it took anything away from the original.This is cooked and served in skillet.But for a prettier presentation after cooking,I just placed everything in a casserole dish.Now I'm going to list the ingredients that I used,but the original ingredients will be in parenthesis. Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a skillet over medium heat,cook onion and smoked sausage in oil until lightly browned(drain if needed).
Step 2
Stir in potato packet,cheese packet,pepper, and water.
Step 3
Cover and reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes,stirring occasionally(and a bit more water if needed to prevent sticking).
Step 4
Add vegetables and stir,cover and cook until vegetables are tender.
Step 5
Remove from heat uncover and sprinkle with cheese.
Step 6
Replace cover and let sit until cheese is melted.
