Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 14 ounces sausage (smoked sausage 16 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup onion (finely chopped onion, original didn't have onions)
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable oil)
  • 1 box (4.7 ounce) Au Gratin Potatoes (original was 5 1/4 ounce)
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (frozen, I used peas & carrots original used 2 cups)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper(original didn't have any seasoning)
  • 2 1/2 cups water, I used just a little less
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded sharp cheddar cheese)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a skillet over medium heat,cook onion and smoked sausage in oil until lightly browned(drain if needed).

  • Step 2: Stir in potato packet,cheese packet,pepper, and water.

  • Step 3: Cover and reduce heat to low and simmer for 15 minutes,stirring occasionally(and a bit more water if needed to prevent sticking).

  • Step 4: Add vegetables and stir,cover and cook until vegetables are tender.

  • Step 5: Remove from heat uncover and sprinkle with cheese.

  • Step 6: Replace cover and let sit until cheese is melted.
