"This is adapted from grazedandenthused.com I read on a site about ice cream that said to have your cooked ingredients cooled off before putting in the ice cream maker. It supposedly makes fluffier ice cream. If you can't find or don't want coconut butter, you can just use butter instead. That's what I had to do. Coconut butter is plant based butter."

Step 1
Get out a blender and mix all the ice cream ingredients (the first seven ingredients). Mix them until they're smooth.
Step 2
Chill the mixture in the refrigerator until cooled.
Step 3
Place the mixture into your ice cream maker and prepare it according to the directions.
Step 4
Make the apple pie topping by heating the coconut oil in a medium saucepan. Add the apples and cook them until they're soft, about 6 to 8 minutes. Add the apple butter and the cinnamon. Serve it warm on top of the ice cream.
