Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Step 2

In large bowl with hand mixer, beat butter and brown sugar 2 minutes. 'Beat in egg and vanilla.

Step 3

Add flour,spice, baking soda and salt; mix until combined. Fold in oats, apple and walnuts, if using.

Step 4

Drop 2-tablespoon scoops dough onto prepared baking sheets at least 2 inches apart. Flatten slightly.

Step 5

Bake until edges are golden, 13-14 minutes, swapping pans halfway through. Let cool slightly, then transfer to cooling rack. Serve warm and store leftovers in an airtight container.

Oh my goodness gracious these are good .Mr picky liked them too . I was concerned about no liquid but when I mixed them up they were just fine
