Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 180C/16t0C fan forced.
Step 2
Place apple in a large saucepan and sprinkle with caster sugar and place over a low heat and cook, covered, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes or until apple is tender and then remove from heat and add dates and stir to combine and then transfer mixture to a 4 cup capacity baking dish.
Step 3
Combine oats, flour, coconut and brown sugar in a medium bowl and add the butter, and using your fingertips, rub butter into the mixture until is resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 4
Spoon over the apple mixture and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and heat through and with ice-cream.
