Step by Step Method
In a large bowl
Combine beaten egg, milk, brown sugar, rosewater, ginger, nutmeg, and salt.
Stir in bread cubes and currants.
Turn into a greased 8 x 1 1/2-inch round baking dish.
Bake, covered, at 350° degrees until knife inserted half way between center and edge comes out clean, about 25 minutes.
Spoon the hot Sack Sauce over hot pudding.
Melt butter in a small sauce pan over a low heat.
Stir continuously until butter starts to brown, remove from heat.
Add brown sugar, stir until dissolved. Add dry sherry, lemon juice and grated lemon peel.
