Step by Step Method

Step 1

In a saucepan over medium heat bring the milk almost to a simmer. Remove from heat. Scrape in . seeds from the vanilla bean and the cinnamon stick. Cover and let steep for 30 minutes. Remove vanilla bean and cinnamon stick.

Step 2

Bring cream to summer in a large saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat. Add chocolate, sugar and salt, whisk until chocolate melts.

Step 3

Gradually add milk mixture to chocolate mixture, whisking over medium heat until to and frothy (5 minutes). Pour hot chocolate into mugs, top with sweetened whipped cream or marshmallows and serve.

So delicious and decadent! It was one of the best things to be enjoyed while sitting by the fire last night. What other way to enjoy a Saturday winters night. Helps take away all the worries of the world, even if it’s just for a moment. Loved the cinnamon and flavor all around. We opted not to use whipped cream and used small marshmallows as suggested. The perfect medicine ladies and gents to cure the woes, as life’s too short not to have some hot chocolate! Completely recommended. Thank you, Ellie, for sharing! Made it for Billboard and FYC tags
