"I ended up creating this when I was trying to correct another recipe that seemed to have an ingredient left out. They turned out so freakin' delicious! Sure to satisfy even the most intense chocolate cravings. They turned out absolutely fabulous, with a chewy cracked top, soft brownie, and oh so yummy deep chocolate flavor. My friends that tried them all gave them 5 stars. I know most cupcakes would have frosting, but I think it would be overkill with these. I love these cute hand held brownies!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350F. Lay out 16-18 foil lined cupcake liners on a cookie sheet.

Step 2

Melt butter and chocolate in the microwave. Stir and let cool.

Step 3

Beat together eggs, sugar and vanilla until well mixed.

Step 4

Beat in cooled chocolate mixture and cocoa until well mixed.

Step 5

Stir in flour until well mixed.

Step 6

Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.

Step 7

Scoop batter with an ice cream scooper into cupcake liners to the top. They won't rise. Top with a half walnut or pecan, if desired.

Step 8

Bake for 18-20 minutes, until the top is crackled. I like to remove them when they are a little underdone, the top may sink in a little but they will be extra soft and yummy.

Step 9

Great warm and cooled. Try reheating for a few seconds in the microwave and topped with whipped cream.

We loved the almond flavor and I added even more by adding in 1 cup of chopped almonds too. They were so moist and I loved that they were in cupcake form so I could just grab one and stick it in a baggie and add it to my lunch for work. My sweet tooth family loved them too!

I put nuts in mine and also put a large piece on top. The nuttier the better! These were really moist and chewy and had lots of chocolate flavor with crunch from the nuts. A most enjoyed cupcake to quench my chocolate yearning.

These are delicious! My grandchildren wanted seconds so we will keep them on hand when I know they are coming! They are so moist and nuts made them even better. I think I like the cupcakes more than regular brownies. More is always better!

I wanted brownie pieces to mix into an ice cream base but only needed a small amount so I made 1/4 of this recipe and left out the chocolate chips. I still had 1 cupcake remaining and let me say, oh my goodness, even without the chocolate chips, it's so fudgy and the top is "crackly" just the way I like it. I can't wait to try the ice cream I put the rest of them into. In fact, these are so good, I intend to make this recipe again just for snacking and not only to go into my ice cream base. Thanks for sharing!

I don't like cake brownies so I was really happy when they came out chewy and moist. These frequent my lunch box often and my kids love them too!
