"This recipe is the one used by a local church catering group well known for their awesome dressing. People come from miles around for the turkey suppers and banquets prepared and served by this group of volunteers. They have shared the recipe in 'A Taste Of Heaven" a cookbook compiled with local recipes, which helped fund a Stairlift for those no longer able to manage stairs. There are a good many dressings we love but this is one I go to for special occasions and at holiday time. For the times I make my turkey early in the day I immediately remove the dressing, place on a sheet of foil shaping the dressing in a sausage like roll refrigerate and slice when firm. Slices arranged on the turkey platter when serving cold has seen to many recipe requests, as do the slices I reheat and serve hot. A great recipe from a great group of volunteers! Cook time is variable - depends on the time it takes to roast your turkey."

Cube bread (I like to cube the day before) dice and chop the apples and vegetables

In large pan add butter, saute the celery and onion until onions are soft
Step 3
Add in the remaining ingredients, pour over the cubed bread (I like adding the bread cubes to the pan gently tossing to mix)
