  • Be sure to select a Mexican beer, such as Corona, for the best flavor.
  • Fresh lime juice is recommended, but you can use bottled juice in a pinch.

  • For a more refreshing taste, substitute the Worcestershire sauce with soy sauce. The saltiness of the soy sauce will create a more balanced flavor and help to bring out the lime and pepper notes.
  • For a more flavorful beer cooler, substitute the beer with a light lager. The light lager will help to bring out the citrus and spice flavors of the other ingredients, creating a more complex taste.

Spicy Michelada Add an extra 1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper and an extra 5 dashes of Tabasco sauce to the recipe.

Spicy Beef Tacos: Spicy beef tacos are the perfect accompaniment to this Tex-Mex Michelada. The combination of the savory beef and the zesty Mexican beer makes for a delicious and flavorful meal. Plus, the tacos provide a great contrast to the cold beer, making it even more enjoyable to drink!

Chili Lime Corn: Chili lime corn is the perfect side dish to serve with this Tex-Mex Michelada. The sweetness of the corn paired with the zesty lime and spicy chili flavors perfectly complement the beer, creating a delicious and balanced meal. The contrast between the cold beer and the warm corn also makes it a great option to enjoy with this recipe!

This sounded intriguing, but sorry, it didn't work for me. Too salty-too much Worcestershire. Maybe some tomato juice in it would help, but I am sure it is an acquired taste. Just the beer, salt and lime juice would be good, though.

This was great. I made with a darker Mexican beer. I do think a lighter beer will be a bit better, next time I'll use a Corona. Thanks for posting! Made for Culinary Quest 2015.
