"The recipe trend for using tater tots as an ingredient is now apparently a real phenomenon. I started to see tater tot recipes in my emails from Taste of Home & realsimpledotcom, but now more bloggers are embracing the trend. This bite-size appy is the brainchild of Becky @ thecookierookiedotcom, is so easy-to-fix & destined to be a winner for her (& for us). ENJOY!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400F & line a baking sheet w/parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar & cayenne pepper.

Step 3

Sprinkle the brown sugar/cayenne pepper mix on top of the bacon & rub the mixture into the bacon slices.

Step 4

Cut each slice of bacon into 4 equal pieces. Wrap the bacon around the tot & secure w/a toothpick.

Step 5

Place each tot seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat the process for all the tater tots.

Step 6

Bake the tots for 20-25 min & flip them halfway through cooking. Cool to the touch & serve.

Step 7

NOTE #1 - If making the tots the day ahead, allow them to cool to room temp after cooking & refrigerate in an airtight container overnight. When ready to serve, reheat the tots in a preheated 350F oven for 10 min or until hot.

Step 8

NOTE #2 - Becky said the yield would serve 8-10, but that would never work at our house. I thought 6 servings was more realistic, but I'll leave that decision to you.
