"It seems all of the Bourbon Chicken recipes online are exactly the same. I was craving it, but I just couldn't bear all the salt and sugar. I subbed out a couple of ingredients and was able to cut the salt by almost half... the carbs by almost half... And I cut the sugar by two thirds! (P.S. Bragg's Aminos are not as low in sodium as coconut aminos.) Also, the bourbon is somewhat gratuitous."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cut chicken into strips or chunks and lightly brown in oil over med-high heat.

Step 2

Mix together the next 10 ingredients (I use a shaker cup)

Step 3

When the chicken starts to brown a bit, pour in sauce and turn up the heat.

Step 4

When the sauce has come to a boil, turn down and simmer for about 20 minutes until sauce thickens and meat is cooked through.
