- For best results, use fresh shrimp for this recipe.
- If desired, you can substitute the sweet chili sauce with your favorite hot sauce.
- For the chili powder, substitute smoked paprika for a smokier flavor. This substitution will bring out the smoky flavor of the liquid smoke and Worcestershire, creating a more complex and flavorful dish.
- For the garlic, substitute garlic powder for a milder flavor. This substitution will reduce the potency of the garlic, allowing the other ingredients to shine through and creating a more balanced dish.
Coconut-Lime Shrimp Replace the Worcestershire sauce with coconut aminos, use lime juice instead of lemon juice, and substitute cumin for the oregano. Marinate for 4 hours, then bake for 15-20 minutes.
Creamy Grits: This creamy and comforting side dish pairs perfectly with the spicy New Orleans shrimp. The creamy texture and mild flavor of the grits will help to balance out the heat of the shrimp.
Southern Fried Okra: This classic Southern side dish is a great complement to the New Orleans shrimp. The crunchy texture of the okra contrasts nicely with the creamy grits, and the flavors of the fried okra will add a nice depth to the dish.
