"This cranberry sauce is spiced perfectly for the Christmas bird! Put the cloves in a tea diffuser or a wee piece of cheese cloth, so you don't have to fish for them later. You can make this a couple of days ahead and refrigerate."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan.

Step 2

Cook at medium heat until cranberries start popping and it comes to a boil; stir occasionally.

Step 3

Turn heat down to a good simmer and cook 5-10 minutes.

Step 4

Let cool for 20 minutes or so.

Step 5

Pour into serving dish and let cool to room temperature; cover and refrigerate.

Ohhhh, this is such a good cranberry sauce! In my opinion, it's one of the better cranberry sauces that I have made or have had, Period! We all Loved it. I followed the recipe, except that I added a bit of cornstarch slurry at the end because in case it wouldn't firm up, but next time I'm not going to use it because it may not need it. I also added an additional cinnamon stick, just because I love cinnamon. Next time, and there will be a next time, I may add ground cloves instead of the whole so as not to chew on it by mistake, but that's a maybe because it was perfect! Thank you Luvcookn for sharing. This is the best cranberry sauce I have ever eaten! I made it to have for our Christmas dinner,and will have it from now on. The whole family emptied the dish!
