Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat ground beef, celery and onions and cook until brown.

Step 2

Add smashed garlic, spices, tomatoes and mushrooms.

Step 3

Simmer for 60 minutes adding water as needed.

Meanwhile, the last 20 minutes cook pasta in heavily salted boiling water until al dente.

Step 5

Drain saving 1/2 cup pasta water.

Step 6

Add pasta water to sauce and cook until tight.

Step 7

Season to taste.
