"O.k..... so you have made meatballs before!!!! BUT have you tried Aussie meatballs, using Vegemite? Go on .................these might surprise you! You can use Beef or Lamb mince for this recipe..... I prefer the Beef as I don't eat lamb. Served over spaghetti with a sprinkling of Parmesan Cheese. I use fresh breadcrumbs and wholegrain breadcrumbs could also be also be used. ....ohh and don't forget the garlic bread!"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix together the beef, breadcrumbs, egg, spring onions, carrot, garlic and Vegemite until well combined. Roll mixture into 24 even sized balls.

Step 2

Heat oil in a large frying pan, add meatballs and cook over a medium heat for 8-10 minutes until golden brown all over. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, water, oregano, thyme, parsley and pepper to taste. Bring to the boil, reduce heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through.

Step 3

Serve over spaghetti with the parmesan sprinkled on top.

Absolutely yummo I got 26 30 grams balls from the mix and for three of us used only 12 of them and with the pasta that was plenty for us the rest will be frozen and reheated for meal or sandwiches etc. Thank you Tisme for a delicious dinner, made for Pick Me tag game. Please note that my second posted photo is the left over meatballs in the pan.
