"I got this recipe from a co-worker over 20 years ago. I've tried other versions of this but really like the green onions and lack of cream cheese in this version."

Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cook noodles in boiling salted water per package directions. Rinse and drain.
Step 2
Brown ground beef, drain grease and return to pan. Add to meat salt, pepper, garlic and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 3
While meat is cooking, combine cottage cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions and noodles.
Step 4
Spray a 2 quart casserole with cooking spray. Then put half of the noodle mixture, next half of the meat mixture. Repeat layers (noodles then meat).
Step 5
Top with shredded cheese.
Step 6
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Step 7
MAKE AHEAD: This recipe can be made the day before. Before heating, bring to room temperature.
