Sour Cream Noodle Bake

"I got this recipe from a co-worker over 20 years ago. I've tried other versions of this but really like the green onions and lack of cream cheese in this version."

Step 1

Cook noodles in boiling salted water per package directions. Rinse and drain.

Step 2

Brown ground beef, drain grease and return to pan. Add to meat salt, pepper, garlic and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.

Step 3

While meat is cooking, combine cottage cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions and noodles.

Step 4

Spray a 2 quart casserole with cooking spray. Then put half of the noodle mixture, next half of the meat mixture. Repeat layers (noodles then meat).

Step 5

Top with shredded cheese.

Step 6

Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Step 7

MAKE AHEAD: This recipe can be made the day before. Before heating, bring to room temperature.

Creamy and delicious and we loved it! Made as instructed, but cut the salt in half. Comfort food all the way!

I made a recipe similar to this years ago and I believe it had green peppers instead of the green onions...this version was delicious...very easy to prepare and a real quick meal if you make it ahead of time...made for FYC tag game...

Very good! I used ricotta instead of cottage cheese and chives instead of green onions but otherwise followed as written. Thanks for sharing!
