Step 1: Cook noodles in boiling salted water per package directions. Rinse and drain.
Step 2: Brown ground beef, drain grease and return to pan. Add to meat salt, pepper, garlic and tomato sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 3: While meat is cooking, combine cottage cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions and noodles.
Step 4: Spray a 2 quart casserole with cooking spray. Then put half of the noodle mixture, next half of the meat mixture. Repeat layers (noodles then meat).
Step 5: Top with shredded cheese.
Step 6: Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until cheese is melted.
Step 7: MAKE AHEAD: This recipe can be made the day before. Before heating, bring to room temperature.
