  • When selecting the type of fish for the tacos, choose a flaky white fish like snapper, cod, tilapia, haddock, halibut, or mahi mahi.
  • For the chili seasoning mix, Teeny Tiny Spice Co.'s Oaxacan Adobo seasoning is recommended for the best flavor.

  • Substitute black beans for the fish for a vegetarian option. The benefit of this substitution is that it provides a plant-based protein that is still full of flavor and texture. It also makes the tacos more accessible to those who don't eat seafood.
  • Substitute romaine lettuce for the cabbage for a crunchier texture. The benefit of this substitution is that it provides a more crisp texture, which is often desired in tacos. It also adds a fresh, light flavor to the tacos.

Grilled Pineapple Fish Tacos Replace the chili seasoning mix with a combination of 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/4 teaspoon cumin, 1/4 teaspoon coriander, and 1/4 teaspoon chili powder. Grill 1/2 a pineapple, cut into wedges, alongside the fish on the oil-brushed grill. Add the grilled pineapple to the tacos with the fish and cabbage mixture, and top with a dollop of mango salsa.

Mexican Street Corn: This classic Mexican side dish is the perfect accompaniment to the Sophisticated Fish Tacos. The sweet and creamy corn is coated in a mayonnaise and chili powder mixture and topped with cotija cheese and cilantro. It adds a delicious flavor and texture to the tacos and is sure to be a hit with everyone.

Tomatillo Guacamole: This flavorful guacamole is the perfect complement to the Sophisticated Fish Tacos. Made with tomatillos, jalapeno, onion, garlic, and cilantro, it has a bright and tangy flavor that pairs perfectly with the tacos. The creamy texture of the guacamole adds a delicious contrast to the crunchy tacos, making it the perfect side dish.
