"I originally found the basic recipe on another online recipe site. The original is very good, but I couldn't leave well enough alone and had to add my own twist to it.The Onion Soup Mix is 2 1 ounce envelopes in a box, use just 1 envelope for the this recipe. You can do like I did and serve it over peirogies. Or serve it over anything you wish like, potatoes, noodles, rice or even toast.Submitted to " ZAZZ" on 10/16/13 " Keep Smiling :)"

Lots of sodium in this recipe from the soup mix. I may try to do a copycat version if I make it again.

A winner recipe!!! Both DH and I loved this. I made using gluten free ingredients and thickened the gravy with corn starch, everything came together nicely. Thanks for sharing this here.

Like you, I could not help tweaking this recipe. These are the changes I did...caramelized 2 onions before browning the patties and adding them in after the gravy thickened, used no salt beef broth for the water and did not use the Kitchen Bouquet. I never eat commercial ground beef! A friend urged me to try her organic grass fed beef, which I did. And I had no reactions to it. Your recipe was the first time in over 10 years that I have eaten beef. And I must say your recipe is awesome! DH kept commenting how wonderful the flavours were. He said that this is a definite keeper! Thank you so much for sharing!
