Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • FOR GROUND BEEF PATTIES
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 large egg (well beaten)
  • 1/2 bread crumbs (dry)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano, or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
  • 1/2 ounce dry onion soup mix (half of a 1 ounce envelope)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • FOR GRAVY
  • 1/2 ounce dry onion soup mix (half of a 1 ounce envelope)
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups water, divided
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kitchen Bouquet Browning Sauce (or other similar browning agent)

How to Make

  • Step 1: In a medium size bowl,thoroughly mix together pattie ingredients and shape into four equal patties.

  • Step 2: Spray a non-stick skillet and cook over medium heat, until both sides are browned(drain if needed).

  • Step 3: In a bowl or glass measuring cup, mix together 1/2 envelope onion soup mix, and 1 1/2 cups water.

  • Step 4: Pour over beef patties,and bring to a slight boil.

  • Step 5: Reduce heat to low,cover and let simmer for 20 minutes.

  • Step 6: Remove patties to a plate.

  • Step 7: Mix together remaining water and the 2 Tablespoons of flour.

  • Step 8: Turn heat up to medium,whisk into onion gravy and constantly stir until it comes to a boil then boil for 1 minute.

  • Step 9: If you think the gravy doesn't look brown enough,add gravy browning agent and stir well.

  • Step 10: Place patties back into pan and spoon gravy over patties.
