Step by Step Method
Step 1
Cook potatoes in heavily salted boiling water
Step 2
Drain
Step 3
Mash potatoes until no lumps remaining
Step 4
Beat in half and half slowly
Step 5
Stir in cheese, salt, nutmeg, pepper ( to taste on seasoning)and egg yolks.
Step 6
Beat egg whites until stiff
Step 7
Fold into potato mixture
Step 8
Pour into ungreased 1 1/2 quart baking dish or souffle dish.
Step 9
Cook uncovered in 375 degree oven until golden brown, about 45 minutes
