Step by Step Method

Step 1

Get out a large saucepan and melt the butter in it.

Step 2

Add the flour and stir until it is smooth. Add the water and bring to a boil. Cook until it's thickened. Add the chili powder and garlic salt and bring to a boil again. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.

Step 3

Get out a large skillet and place it on the stove over medium heat.

Step 4

Put in the beef, sausage, and onion. Cook until the meat is no longer pink. Drain. Next put in the beans and stir them in, heating all the way through.

Step 5

Grease a 9 X 13 baking dish. Spread in 1/4 cup sauce mixture.

Step 6

Add one tablespoon of the sauce mixture in the center of each tortilla and spread it around the tortilla. Add 2/3 cup of the meat mixture down the center of each tortilla. Add 1/4 cup of shredded cheese to each tortilla.

Step 7

Next, roll each tortilla up and place them seam side down in the baking dish.

Step 8

Pour the remaining sauce over the top of them. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top of everything.

Step 9

Bake uncovered for 18 to 22 minutes. It should be bubbly and the cheese should be melted.

Step 10

Serve with whichever optional toppings you so desire to use.

These came out really Yum! Used Portuguese chourico along with the ground beef and to save some veggies from going bad, also added jalapenos and bell red peppers which were sautéed along with the onions.
