How to Make

  • Step 1: Get out a large saucepan and melt the butter in it.

  • Step 2: Add the flour and stir until it is smooth. Add the water and bring to a boil. Cook until it's thickened. Add the chili powder and garlic salt and bring to a boil again. Reduce the heat and simmer uncovered for 10 minutes.

  • Step 3: Get out a large skillet and place it on the stove over medium heat.

  • Step 4: Put in the beef, sausage, and onion. Cook until the meat is no longer pink. Drain. Next put in the beans and stir them in, heating all the way through.

  • Step 5: Grease a 9 X 13 baking dish. Spread in 1/4 cup sauce mixture.

  • Step 6: Add one tablespoon of the sauce mixture in the center of each tortilla and spread it around the tortilla. Add 2/3 cup of the meat mixture down the center of each tortilla. Add 1/4 cup of shredded cheese to each tortilla.

  • Step 7: Next, roll each tortilla up and place them seam side down in the baking dish.

  • Step 8: Pour the remaining sauce over the top of them. Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the top of everything.

  • Step 9: Bake uncovered for 18 to 22 minutes. It should be bubbly and the cheese should be melted.

  • Step 10: Serve with whichever optional toppings you so desire to use.
