"A favor rich steak sauce. Now, this may be a bit regional, because I am not sure what the availability of A-1 steak sauce is globally. I know it is available on line at many sites, but just a heads up. If you don't have A-1, you may want to try a different recipe. You can make a copy cat of A-1, but I am not sure it is worth all the work for a simple steak sauce. But for those who can purchase A-1, this is great. And Heinz Steak sauce does NOT work, it isn't the same taste at all."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Roasted Garlic ... Cut a thin slice off the top of each garlic head. Add the heads of garlic to a sheet of heavy duty foil. If you don't heave heavy duty ... use 2 sheets of regular foil. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Wrap up the foil around the garlic and add the foil pouch to the oven set at 400 degrees for 30-40 minutes on the middle shelf and cook until tender. Let the garlic cool and then squeeze out the garlic cloves into a small sauce pan.

Step 2

Sauce ... Add the wine and onion to a small sauce pan on medium heat, and simmer for 5 minutes until the wine has reduced slightly and the onion is tender. Add the garlic, steak sauce and simmer another 10 minutes on low heat. Remove from the heat and cool and refrigerate until ready to use.

Step 3

Grill a steak ... slather with the sauce and ENJOY!
