Step by Step Method
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl dissolve the yeast in the water (lukewarm - warm) and then add the next 4 ingredients (milk - eggs) and 3 cups of the flour. Beat until smooth and elastic. Stir in the 1/2 cup melted butter and beat until combined. Add remaining flour, beating until smooth. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until almost doubled.
Step 2
Stir down and turn into a butter jelly-roll pan (I use a roasting pan) 12 x 16 inches.
Step 3
Spread 3/4 cup melted butter over the dough, then sprinkle it evenly with a mixture of brown sugar, flour and almonds. Let rise for 30 minutes.
Step 4
Bake in a 375 degree f oven for 20 - 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 5
Cut into squares to serve.
