"This produces a hearty bread with a slight crunchy texture. Great for a bowl of soup or toast. 7-grain cereal can be found in natural food stores or larger supermarkets. Bob's Red Mill makes one. You can substitute 10-grain cereal. The vital gluten is optional but it helps keep heavier flours like rye and whole wheat lighter, for better rising. Again, Bob's Red Mill makes it."

I tagged this recipe probably two months ago for Billboard tag and then time just got away from me. Unlike my DH who slathers butter on all bread products, I actually like to taste the bread itself. I made the bread totally in the breadmaker. The honey gives the bread a slightly sweetened note. I used had my MIL stop and get me 7 grain cereal, however she picked up a puffed variety, so I decided that probably wouldn't work. So I picked up a hot mix variety which is 7 grain, including quinoa and flax seed. It seemed to work fine for the application. MIL, DH and myself thoroughly enjoyed the bread wolfing almost half of it down. There is nothing like warm fresh made bread. Made for Billboard tag 2015.
