Step 1

Saute onions, garlic, carrots, and celery in heated bacon grease

For 5 minutes.

Add beef stock, lentils, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.

Bring to a boil.

Lower heat and cook slowly, covered, about 30 minutes, until lentils are just tender.

Step 6

Add frankfurters and cook another 10 minutes.

Step 7

Remove from heat and stir in vinegar.

Step 8

Take out bay leaf.

Step 9

Stir in parsley simmer 5 minutes more
