Step 1: Saute onions, garlic, carrots, and celery in heated bacon grease
Step 2: For 5 minutes.
Step 3: Add beef stock, lentils, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
Step 4: Bring to a boil.
Step 5: Lower heat and cook slowly, covered, about 30 minutes, until lentils are just tender.
Step 6: Add frankfurters and cook another 10 minutes.
Step 7: Remove from heat and stir in vinegar.
Step 8: Take out bay leaf.
Step 9: Stir in parsley simmer 5 minutes more
