Step by Step Method
Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
Step 2
Put parchment paper onto baking sheets.
Step 3
In a bowl whisk together the dry ingredients (flour -salt) and then using your hands blend in the butter until crumbly.
Step 4
Add the chopped pistachios and lime zest; toss.
Step 5
Stir in buttermilk and maple syrup --- do not overmix.
Step 6
Divide dough into two balls and place on floured surface. Pat dough down.
Step 7
For glaze pour a little buttermilk on top of each mound, spreading evenly with a pastry brush and then sprinkle the sugar over all.
Step 8
Cut each mound into 8 wedges.
Step 9
Place scones on baking sheets and bake for 15 minutes or until puffy and golden brown.
