Step by Step Method

Step 1

About 20 minutes before grilling, remove the steaks from the fridge and let sit, covered at room temperature.

Step 2

Heat your grill to high; brush the steaks on both sides with oil and season liberally with salt & pepper.

Step 3

Place steaks on the grill and cook until golden brown and slightly charred, 4-5 minutes; turn steaks over and continue to grill 3-5 minutes for medium rare (internal temp of 135), 5-7 minutes for medium (140), or 8-10 minutes for medium well (150).

Step 4

Transfer the steaks to a cutting board or platter, tent loosely with foil and let rest 5 minutes before slicing.

QueenBea This is a fabulous method to cook steak and I will use it from now on when cooking it! We like ours rare so I used a shorter cooking time on each side, but the sirloin steak I cooked was so tender and every bite was better than the previous ones. Love this!
