Step by Step Method
Step 1
Boil the ham hocks with the bouillon and bay leaf for an hour.
Step 2
Add the rest of ingredients and simmer an hour.
Step 3
Adding water as needed, stirring occasionally.
Step 4
Remove ham hocks and chop them up removing bones and tough skin if needed.
Step 5
Add chopped meat back into soup.
Step 6
Remove bay leaf.
Step 7
Season to taste.
