Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 6 cups water, boiling
  • 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
  • 2 pounds smoked ham hocks
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 10 ounces frozen okra, sliced (1 bag)
  • 10 ounces frozen lima beans (1 bag)
  • 10 ounces frozen corn (1 bag)
  • 28 ounces whole tomatoes (1 can)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup onions, diced

How to Make

  • Step 1: Boil the ham hocks with the bouillon and bay leaf for an hour.

  • Step 2: Add the rest of ingredients and simmer an hour.

  • Step 3: Adding water as needed, stirring occasionally.

  • Step 4: Remove ham hocks and chop them up removing bones and tough skin if needed.

  • Step 5: Add chopped meat back into soup.

  • Step 6: Remove bay leaf.

  • Step 7: Season to taste.
