Step by Step Method
Step 1
Bring navy beans and water to boil for 5 minutes. Simmer for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Brown hamburger and onions, season lightly and drain.
Step 3
Add hamburger mixture, tomatoes, carrots, garlic powder, bouillon, potatoes, pepper, celery, onion, salt and rice.
Step 4
Cook for 50 minutes covered.
Step 5
Add barley an cook for 20 minutes.
Step 6
Add water as needed, stirring occasionally.
Step 7
Season to taste.
