Step by Step Method

Step 1

Mix everything together with a fork. If you need to adjust it with more mayo/less, it's up to you.

Step 2

NOTE: I normally never measure the ingredients, I eye-ball it to our liking like my mother did. However, my mom never used the mayo., but I use it to suit our Americanized tastes and it helps bind it especially in a sandwich.

Step 3

Serve it on it's own as part of a green salad or in a sandwich (I normally toast sliced bread lightly before adding the tuna).

Fantastic tuna salad! I made two small changes, I used fennel instead of celery just because I have a TON of it in my garden right now and I omitted the mayo. I was about to added it but I tasted the salad before and ...it was just perfect that way. For the hot sauce, I used a fermented chili limon homemade one.

What? How can a tuna salad recipe completely knock your socks off? This is the BEST tuna salad recipe I've ever tried and will be going into my Best of 2023 file. I love the heat from the hot sauce (I used Frank's extra hot sauce) and tang from the red wine vinegar. I went light on both of them and used 3 T. of mayo. I also used red onions since I had some already chopped and ready to go. Loved the crunch from the onion and celery. I served this over toasted sourdough and was singing its praises while eating. Thank you!

What a tasty tuna salad...I made sandwiches...and used a can of albacore tuna that was in water...so after draining it I drizzled a bit of olive oil over it...my hot sauce really added a touch of heat...it has habanaro peppers in it...like the other reviewers I loved the tang that the red wine vinegar gave...I did add a touch of salt...made for "FYC" tag game...

We have a Portuguese family member that said that is how he makes his tuna salad. We thoroughly enjoyed this awesome change of pace! Used solid albacore tuna and red onion, and made as directed. We enjoyed the zing of the red wine vinegar! Thank you for sharing ForeverMama! Made for Billboard Recipe Tag.

Wow - one of the best tuna salads I've had! Absolutely loved the kick added by the hot sauce and the tang from the vinegar! I used a HOT Peri Peri sauce and maybe overdid it a little. But it added great flavor. Also loved the crunch from the onion and celery. Served it over lettuce leaves and ate it like lettuce wraps. So good! Thanks for sharing - this will become one of my favorite keepers!
