Ingredients

The ingredients are:
  • 1 (5 - 6 ounce) can tuna (I like using the European style tuna packed in olive oil). If using packed in water, drain it and you can also drain the oil, but the olive oil gives it a good taste.
  • 2 - 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce (depending on the brand, you may want to use less / more. I use a Portuguese brand that is not crazy hot, but has lots of flavor. You may want to use a Louisiana style. The finished dish is not supposed to be all about "hot" but a good background healthy heat)
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup flat leaf parsley, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons onion, finely chopped (more or less).
  • 4 tablespoons celery, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1-2 teaspoons red wine vinegar (or to taste) - optional
We recommend you get your ingredients ready before you start cooking. Once you're ready, here are the steps to making this delicious recipe

How to Make

  • Step 1: Mix everything together with a fork. If you need to adjust it with more mayo/less, it's up to you.

  • Step 2: NOTE: I normally never measure the ingredients, I eye-ball it to our liking like my mother did. However, my mom never used the mayo., but I use it to suit our Americanized tastes and it helps bind it especially in a sandwich.

  • Step 3: Serve it on it's own as part of a green salad or in a sandwich (I normally toast sliced bread lightly before adding the tuna).
