Step by Step Method

Step 1

Heat oil to 350.

Step 2

Stir together all ingredients.

Step 3

Drop by tablespoons into hot oil, flip and when golden brown, drain on paper towel.

Step 4

Tips: Dip spoon in hot oil. This will help the batter slide off. Drop batter close to the oil to form a ball.

Had to have me some of these! When I saw they had jalapenos I saved the recipe. I finally got around to making them and we thought they were super good!

These are really good! We added a 1/4 cup finely chopped peppers since my boys and husband like things hot. The peppers added another dimension to the hushpuppies and we served them with Senate bean soup.
