Mimi's American Chop Suey
"When I was little, my mom made this a lot so it is a comfort food for me. It was during World War II and very inexpensive to prepare. I loved it and was always happy when I asked, "What's for supper?" and she said, "Chop Suey". She never called it "American Chop Suey" except on her recipe card. You will have most of the ingredients on hand, I think, as there are only five plus salt and pepper. The pasta and hamburg are approximate but that is about right. I never measure these."
