"I have made this for over 30 years and is very good. It is not your traditional pasta and sauce, but an elegant one-dish meal. It has a cheese filling with the mixture of hamburg and sauce on the top. The cheese filling is yummy with the spaghetti."

Step 1

Cook and drain pasta.

Step 2

Saute hamburg in butter till beef is browned; add the two cans tomato sauce, salt, pepper--set aside.

Step 3

Combine all ingredients for the filling; in a shallow 2-quart casserole, spread one-half of the cooked spaghetti and then cover with all of the cheese filling mixture.

Step 4

Add remaining spaghetti and drizzle the 2 tablespoons melted butter over this; spread the tomato meat mixture over the top. If you are making this ahead, chill in refrigerator but take it out 30 minutes before baking (you may bake this right away though).

Step 5

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or till hot and bubbly; you may need to lay a piece of foil loosely on the top near the end of baking.

I wanted to make something to warm our tummies tonight as it is cold and snowy outside. This hit the spot and we gobbled it up enjoying every morsel! Such comfort and so filling, not to mention delicious. Oh yes, we will be having it again, and soon!

I knew this was a winner when I saw all the cheeses going into it, and I was right! Yummy, creamy sauce and filling tasted so darn good! Seconds wasn't even a question. I could have kept going.
