Step by Step Method
Step 1
Melt lard in a skillet and brown the sliced onions.
Step 2
Remove the onions and place them in a Dutch oven.
Step 3
Brown the beef in the same pan drippings.
Step 4
Add paprika, marjoram, garlic and some salt and pepper (to taste). Stir the mixture in the skillet; then pour it all into the dutch oven.
Step 5
Add the green peppers to the dutch oven.
Step 6
Add enough beef broth to the dutch oven to cover. Simmer for 60 minutes.
Step 7
Cream the flour sour cream together.
Step 8
Stir into the sauce and cook, stirring often, until the goulash is smooth and thickened.
Step 9
Add the caraway seeds and cook a little longer.
Step 10
Before serving, add more salt and pepper if needed.
Step 11
Serve over rice or noodles.
