"I find that there are so many last minute things to do when you are making that special holiday dinner that I love to make my mashed potatoes ahead of time and just pop them in the oven a half hour before dinner. You may sub margerine for the butter"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Cover the prepared potatoes pieces with cold water. Add chopped garlic. Bring to a boil and cook until fork tender.

Step 2

When fork tender drain, remove garlic pieces, return potatoes to the pot, low heat to dry the potatoes (approx 1- 2 minutes).

Step 3

Melt the butter together with the half & half cream & steak seasoning, heat until warm.

Step 4

Gradually pour the butter mixture into the potatoes as you mash them. Mash until there are no lumps but the potatoes still have some texture..Place in a baking dish with a cover.

Step 5

You may now store covered in the fridge until an hour before serving.

Step 6

Half an hour to 45 minutes before dinner, potatoes at room temperature, place dish in preheated 325f oven.

Step 7

You may have a warmer oven just decrease the time the potatoes are in there.
