"This recipe is from Disney and is for Jack-Jack Parr’s Num Num Cookies from the movie "The Incredibles". You definitely want to use butter since the recipe starts out with you making browned butter (beurre noisette). It gives these cookies a nice toasty, nutty and buttery flavor. Time doesn't include chilling time."

Step by Step Method

Step 1

Melt butter over medium heat in a saute pan. Swirl the pan occasionally to be sure the butter is cooking evenly.

Step 2

As the butter melts, it will begin to foam. The color will progress to a toasty-brown. Once you smell that nutty aroma, take the pan off the heat.

Step 3

Transfer the browned butter to a medium mixing bowl and allow to cool until it solidifies slightly. Cream butter, sugars and salt in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy.

Step 4

Mix in whole egg, egg yolk and vanilla.

Step 5

Combine flour and baking soda then mix them with the batter.

Step 6

Add the chocolate chips and stir well.

Step 7

Scoop your batter into balls and place on non-stick baking sheet. Chill thoroughly for at least an hour (preferably overnight).

Step 8

Bake at 350F until your cookies are a nice golden brown on the edges but still soft in the center (about 7-10 minutes).

Step 9

Remove to a baking rack and allow to cool.
