Step by Step Method

Step 1

Put a mason jar in the freezer (this is for making the cream topping. If you'd rather use whipped cream, skip this step).

Step 2

Make a pot of strong coffee.

Step 3

While the coffee is brewing, make yourself a batch of hot chocolate. We recommend something homemade and creamy, but any hot chocolate will work.

Step 4

Pour your hot chocolate into the bottom 1/3rd of your mug.

Step 5

Pour your coffee over the back of a spoon into the mug, filling to 2/3rds full.

Step 6

Put your heavy cream into the chilled mason jar and close.

Step 7

Shake until the cream thickens slightly.

Step 8

Pour cream over the back of a spoon, filling the mug completely.

Step 9

Top with chocolate shavings.

Two of my favorites coffee and chocolate! Yummy change from my usual morning coffee, definitely a keeper.

Chocolate and coffee? Yes, please! This was such a treat with breakfast this morning. I loved the chocolate layer at the bottom, due to the spoon technique used when pouring the coffee. Of course, anything topped with whipped cream and chocolate shavings is a plus in my book!

Mocha flavored coffees are my favorite and this coffee is now a new fav for me. I did use Swiss Miss hot cocoa mix and Starbucks Italian Dark Roast Kcup pod. Just enough sweetness from the cocoa mix for me and instead of the whipped cream I added a couple splashes of coffee creamer. Will be enjoying this often! Made and reviewed for Susie's World Tour 2019 - Italy.

Mia in Germany

How can you go wrong with coffee and chocolate LOL I used whipping cream instead of heavy because there is creme double in Germany, but hard to find here. Don't think it changed much about the divine taste. Thanks for sharing! Made for SWT 2019 / Italy for the Traveling Tastebuds
