"The ribs may be cooked without browning first but a large amount of fat will be swimming in the sauce, I prefer to cook the ribs first to make sure all the fat drains out and the flavor is actually better, you could brown the ribs in the oven, pour the sauce over and refrigerate for 24 hours This also works well using thick-cut bone-in pork chops, brown about 3 minutes per side first in a skillet first, oven cooking time will need to be adjusted"

Step by Step Method

Step 1

In an extra large bowl combine the first 12 ingredients.

Step 2

Place the ribs onto a rack on a baking sheet.

Step 3

Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven until browned (about 30 minutes).

Step 4

Place in a large roaster pan.

Step 5

Pour the sauce over the ribs then toss to coat in the sauce.

Step 6

Cover and cook until tender (about 1 hour).

Step 7

Place ribs on a serving platter; sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.

I loved these ribs and my family did too! I baked and browned the ribs really well, then removed all the fat, then made and added the sauce and refrigerated overnight. Baked again and served with lots of napkins. We had them with Asian slaw and Garlic and butter sautéed green beans with an Asian sauce over the top for one fabulous meal!
